Perhaps the main motivation for Conor McGregor temporarily abandon MMA in favor of boxing be it the money. And the Irishman revealed the value that made him seek – and get – a fight against the legendary Floyd Mayweather. According to the UFC champion, his total salary for entering the ring on August 26th will be more than US$100 million.

“Notorious” guarantees that the value will be greater than this number, as it relies on large sales of merchandise related to the event, in addition to one-off sponsorships, its promised salary and ticket sales and pay-per-views.

“I am 100% sure I will earn more than $100 million for this fight. I even think I'll earn more than Manny Pacquiao earned to face Mayweather. It will be more than US$100 million, for sure. If we put together everything I have as a percentage in relation to the event, such as merchandise sales, among other things, I'm sure I'll surpass that number”, commented McGregor in an interview with the North American website MMA Fighting, also guaranteeing that the superfight is only having so much attention from the media and fans because of you.

“Who’s winning in the promotion? I appear all the time, I go viral all the time on social media. The fur coat, the suit with the words “F… you”, the money and everything. It's all because of me. If I'm not here, then all people have is Floyd in a Gucci store shopping. And, you can be sure, I will bring home every dollar of it,” he declared at a press conference.
