Interim UFC middleweight champion, Robert whittaker should be the next opponent of the owner of the linear belt in the category, Michael Bisping. However, a knee injury ruled the New Zealander out of contention, paving the way for Georges St Pierre face English. The duel between the two should take place at the end of the year, and Whittaker denied that GSP had “jumped his queue”, saying that the Canadian “is not in the category” and that things change very quickly in Ultimate.

“The injury doesn’t matter, to be honest. Michael has been insisting on this for how long? The UFC does whatever it wants. That's how it is. Georges isn't even in that division. He is not someone who is in the top 10 and jumping the queue. Does not bother me. People will do what they want. I can't be mad if it doesn't go according to my plans, because let's face it, the UFC is a rollercoaster”, commented the champion, in an interview with the North American broadcaster “ESPN”.

Whittaker also confirmed what UFC president Dana White had said: the idea was for him and Bisping to coach the next season of The Ultimate Fighter and face each other right after the show. However, the distance from his family, who live in Australia, and his knee injury caused the New Zealander to decline the invitation.

“They approached me right after my fight, but I hadn't seen my kids or family in weeks. It's not like I live two hours away. I live close to 24 hours away. For me, realistically, I need to make it worth it,” Whittaker stated, referring to the salary he would receive for coaching TUF 26.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
