“For the most part, Daniel is a fierce competitor, a great individual, excellent athlete and champion and I know how important our fight was to him. It was a fight that was worth his legacy. I didn't want a loss or victory to determine Cormier's legacy. I want people to see him for who he really is, outside of the Octagon. I think this is equally important. So I wanted to shine a light on the individual he is outside of the octagon”, declared the new champion, who still has no opponent or date to fight again.

“The fight with Lesnar can't happen yet, as he's still suspended for some time, so I'm just waiting for a call from the UFC. But, of course, I have been working with some possibilities. Let’s see,” he concluded.
