The New Zealander Mark Hunt interrupted his losing streak with a big knockout over Derrick Lewis in June this year in the main fight of UFC New Zealand. And after seeing Fabricio Werdum be defeated by alistair overeem at UFC 213, the heavyweight asked for a rematch with the Brazilian. But not before laughing at a challenge proposed on social media by alexey oleynik.

Shortly after his victory over Travis Browne, the Russian asked for a fight with the “Super Samoan” and said that Hunt refused to face him. Rebutting accusations that he had “run away”, Mark Hunt revealed that he is thinking about facing Werdum again.

“Hey, Aleksey Oleynik, I haven't heard anything about a fight with you. But if we fought I would knock you out badly, man. Anyway, I want to face Fabricio Werdum. I ask my fans to send him messages asking for this duel”, commented Hunt in a post on social media.

Werdum and Hunt faced each other in the main fight of UFC 180, in a duel valid for the interim heavyweight title. The Brazilian would face the linear champion Cain Velazquez at the event, but the American of Mexican origin was injured and was replaced by the New Zealander. After taking a knockdown in the first round, “Vai Cavalo” achieved a beautiful knockout by feigning a takedown and coming up with a flying knee that put Hunt out instantly.
