The UFC 216 card, which will be held on October 7th in Las Vegas (USA), gained its first Brazilian representative. Its about Thales leites, who faces the Hawaiian Brad Tavares, in a duel valid for the middleweight category (up to 84kg). The information was given first-hand on the Combate channel website.

At 35 years old, Thales is going through a period of ups and downs in the organization. In the last five fights, there are three defeats and two wins. In his last challenge, he beat Sam alvey by unanimous decision, in April this year. With two stints in Ultimate, the Rio native has already competed for the belt against the former champion Anderson Silva, in 2009, but was defeated on points. In total, there are 18 fights in the house, with 12 positive results and six negative.
Tavares is coming off two consecutive victories, the most recent over Elias Theodorou, last July. At 29 years old, the Hawaiian can be considered an Ultimate veteran. With the organization since 2010, he has had 14 fights, with ten triumphs and four setbacks (15-4 as a professional).
