Officially retired from MMA since April this year, when he was submitted by Daniel Cormier at UFC 210, Anthony Johnson can return to the octagon. According to the fighter himself, a confrontation against the light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, added to a good salary, could make his return to the world of fights happen in the coming months.

“It would have to be something that is financially worthwhile, because I have a lot going on at the moment. If I did, in fact, return, it would only be to face the legend Jon Jones. I defeated practically everyone with the exception of Daniel Cormier and Jon. Jon took some good hits from Daniel. It is worth remembering that Johnson and Jones were scheduled to face each other at UFC 187, in May 2015, but the duel was canceled after 'Bones' got involved in legal problems and was automatically removed by the organization. On that occasion, Cormier replaced Jones and submitted Johnson, in a duel valid for the light heavyweight belt.

At 33, Anthony Johnson He left MMA with a record of 22 wins and six losses. In the UFC, there were 19 fights, with 13 positive results and six negative results, having performed in three different categories: welterweight (up to 77kg), middleweight (up to 84kg) and light heavyweight (up to 93kg).
