Former light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier was caught arguing harshly with “Big” John McCarthy following his loss to Jon Jones at UFC 214 last Saturday, but apologized to the referee, in addition to congratulating his rival on the victory. Through his official accounts on the main social networks, DC also thanked McCarthy for giving him the opportunity to recover in combat.

Initially, Cormier was upset with “Big John” as he felt the referee’s interruption was premature. In fact, he was criticized for letting DC take many hits, even though he didn't defend himself. However, the North American said he was grateful that the interruption was not too early.
“Firstly, I want to thank everyone for their words. I felt your support. Congratulations to Jon Jones and your team. They did a phenomenal job in their victory. I also want to apologize to “Big” John McCarthy for the argument. I'm grateful for the time I was given so I could try to recover within the fight. You're the best referee in MMA for that reason. I also want to thank my coach and my team. I love you all from the bottom of my heart. Your time and energy is greatly appreciated by me. You guys did a great job and I was ready. It's a struggle and that kind of thing happens. Thank you to Dana White and the UFC for being the premier MMA organization in the world. Once again, congratulations to the team Jon Jones. I love you all. I will see them soon”, commented DC.
