This Thursday (27), two days before UFC 214, fighters from the preliminary portion of the event, as well as athletes who will fight on the main card but are not involved in the championship fights, met with journalists from around the world and faced their opponents. The stares produced moments of tension, especially between the Brazilian Renan Barao e aljamain sterling, who will fight at catchweight this Saturday (29).

The Jamaican had already shown irritation with his opponent when his return to bantamweight was vetoed by the California Athletic Commission. Thus, Sterling was forced to accept a catchweight fight (63,5 kg.), and showed all his dissatisfaction when he came face to face with Barão. The “Funk Master” started to tease the Brazilian during the face-off and even showed his biceps to the former champion, who just laughed and pretended to be scared.
Other tense confrontations took place between featherweights Jason Knight and Ricardo Lamas. “The Kid” started to provoke the former 66 kg title challenger, but when he saw that Lamas wasn't responding, he gave up and the two ended up shaking hands. Light heavyweights Jimi Manuwa and Volkan oezdemir, who opened the main portion of the event, also made faces of few friends in the face.
