Number 4 in the women's strawweight category, Bate-Estaca hasn't fought since last May, when he fought for the belt against the champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk, but was surpassed by points. Previously, Jéssica had won three consecutive victories, results that qualified her as a challenger. At just 25 years old, she has 16 wins and six losses as a professional.
Claudinha, in turn, comes from two consecutive victories, both in fights held in Brazil. Number 1 in the rankings, she defeated Cortney Casey in the UFC Sao Paulo, in November 2016, and finalized Karolina Kowalkiewicz at UFC 212, in Rio de Janeiro, last June. Like Jéssica, she was also defeated by Jedrzejczyk in a title fight in July 2015. At 28 years old, her record has 15 triumphs and only two setbacks, both for the current champion of the category.
In addition to the two fighters, Brazil has three more representatives on the card. Former light heavyweight champion Mauritius Shogun rematches with Ovince St.Preux in the main fight of the night, while light heavyweight Henrique Frankenstein and flyweight Jussier formiga face debutant kickboxing star Gokhan Saki and Yuta Sasaki, respectively.
