The Brazilian Chris Cyborg will finally have the opportunity to become Ultimate champion in her home category. At UFC 214 on July 29, she will face Tonya Evinger for the organization's featherweight title. The North American entered the duel with Cris recently, as the original opponent had to withdraw from the fight due to personal problems.

Evinger's little preparation time, added to the fact that the fighter normally performs at bantamweight, lighter than featherweight, gives Cyborg all the favoritism in the fight. The Brazilian guarantees, however, that she does not underestimate her next opponent, the Invicta champion at 61 kg.
“You can never think you are unbeatable, the first thing is to put your feet on the ground, always train. Since I started training, those people who follow my career know that I continue training the same way. When you're champion, with the belt, you have to train even more, because not only is being champion difficult, but maintaining it is very difficult. I put my feet on the ground and, regardless of the belt, I always have to train. The crowd is watching you, they want to beat you, they want to beat you, so you have to evolve more and more”, commented Cris, in an interview with the Combate channel website, then praising Evinger.
“Tonya is a great opponent, I think it could be the best fight of the night. I know she's a tough girl, she's in the top 10 at 61kg (bantamweight), I think this fight will be better than one with Megan anderson. She's a tough girl, I think she'll handle it better. I’ll get the win, for sure, but I think this will be the best fight of the night,” she declared.
