Gaethje receives medical suspension and could be out of the UFC until 2018

After big debut, lightweight needs to undergo an eye exam before returning to the Ultimate Octagon

Light weight Justin gaethje impressed the Ultimate bosses in his debut, at TUF Finale 25, but may be forced to stay out of the octagon until 2018. This is because, after the event, the North American received a medical suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission that could extend for six months, depending on an ophthalmological examination.

During your battle against Michael Johnson In the main fight of last Friday's event (7), Gaethje injured his eye and can only be released to fight if he is cleared by an ophthalmologist trusted by the organization. Regardless of the doctor's approval, however, he is suspended for two months and will only be able to return in September.

Defeated by the newcomer and former WSOF champion, Johnson received a six-week suspension and will be able to return to fight on August 22, as will Brazilian Juliana Lima, defeated by Tecia torres in the preliminary portion of the event. Two other athletes who were in action at TUF Finale 25 may only return in 2018: Drakkar Klose, who beat Marc Diakese via split decision, and Jared Cannonier, who defeated Nick Roehrick, by technical knockout in the third round.
