The fans of Conor McGregor may be getting ready to see their idol in action for the last time on August 26th, when he will face, under boxing rules, the legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather, in Las Vegas (USA). Dana White, president of the UFC, admitted that the Irishman may never return to fight after his next challenge, largely due to the salary allowance he will receive, which is around R$330 million.

“I have to be honest, I've had a lot of guys in the UFC who disappeared after making a lot of money. There's no way to know. He's going to go in there and make all this money, maybe he'll never fight again after that. (…) It’s part of the deal, you know? This guy did a lot for the sport, a lot for the company and this was the fight he wanted, so we're giving him this fight. If this is the last fight of Conor’s career, then that’s what it is”, declared White, during a conversation with journalists backstage at the first press conference announcing the fight.

Asked about a possible rematch between Conor and Floyd, Dana preferred to remain cautious and wait. According to him, the future of both will only be decided after the long-awaited duel.

“There’s no way to even talk about a rematch without seeing how the fight will go first. If Floyd Mayweather x Conor McGregor If it’s one of the best fights you’ve ever seen in your life, it will probably be a fight that will have to happen again, but if it doesn’t…I want to go back to my world after this”, he concluded.
