Amanda nunes broke the silence. After leaving the fight against Valentina Shevchenko, which would be the main attraction of UFC 213, an event held last Saturday (08), in Las Vegas (USA), the women's bantamweight champion justified herself through a post on her social networks. According to the Brazilian, chronic sinusitis was responsible for taking her out of combat.

“Everyone is wanting to hear my side, so here it is. I have chronic sinusitis, I've struggled with it a few times before, but this time it didn't work out. During the weight cutting process, I couldn't breathe and felt dizzy because of the pressure in my sinuses. I wasn't feeling well enough to risk getting punched in the head with so much pressure. I was taken to the hospital after the weigh-in, and they just checked my blood and dehydration level and then released me based on that. The next day, I went back there and they did a CT scan, where they discovered edema. They gave me antibiotics and referred me to specialists. I've never run away from a fight before. I apologize to my fans who came to see me. The fight is being rescheduled. I still want this fight. I still want this opponent. Thank you”, wrote the Lioness.

Despite Amanda's justification, Dana White, president of the UFC, has already had demonstrated his dissatisfaction with the situation. According to the director, Amanda's problem was '90% mental and 10% physical', stating that Nunes was capable of taking action against Valentina, but chose to abandon the duel. The fact angered the organization, which intends to schedule the rematch for UFC 215, on September 9, in Edmonton, Canada.
