Interview: Daniel Acácio ready for Fury GP

In an interview with the Gracie Magazine website, Chute-Boxe athlete, Daniel Acácio, aspires to the title of best fighter in Brazil in the under-83 kg category and to do so he will have to immediately face André Mikito, representative of the De La Riva team.
duel will bring the biggest difference in experience between the GP finalists. Acácio, who has 17 MMA fights, with 12 victories, has already appeared in events such as Pride, Pancrase and Jungle Fight. Mikito only has four fights as an MMA professional, totaling three wins

What has your training routine been like for the event?

Daniel Acácio: I've been training every day, but I'm already slowing down a little, as there's just over a week left until the event. I'm putting a lot of emphasis on ground preparation, along with muay thai, I want to go in complete. I have also been monitored by a psychologist. The head part is very important for me to have the necessary confidence and focus on one fight at a time. The other will only interest me if I get past the first.

What are the expectations regarding your participation? Since you are the fighter with the most baggage at the event.
Daniel Acácio: I will do my best. I want to go back to my roots, do what I've always done, and put on a show for the crowd. Experience can help, but it doesn't have much influence. Mikito is the youngest, but he's arriving full of desire, and that counts for a lot, because the guy is hungry to win. I think all four of them can take it.

What do you think of Mikito, your first opponent?
Daniel Acácio: He is a great fighter, full of desire. In his last fight you could see that, he fought with a lot of heart and went to the end. He may be just starting out now, but you can be sure that he will still give a lot of work at this weight, but I warn you that I'm flying low (laughs).

PUBLICITY:

Any guesses about the other semi-final, between Toquinho and Negão?
Daniel Acácio: I think Fábio Negão is more complete. Toquinho has more of a Jiu-Jitsu and takedown part. Negão exchanges well and is still a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu. Let's see who is more prepared, but I think Negão will take it.

Anything on the horizon after Fury 5?
Daniel Acácio: What is certain is that I will start preparing for another weight. I'm going to fight at 93 kilos. As for events, nothing has been confirmed, but it is quite possible that I will secure a place for that new event in collaboration with former Pride employees, M-1 Global.
