The Brazilian Chris Cyborg welcomed the words of Dana White, president of the UFC, who admitted the company's mistakes in its relationship with the featherweight and promised to improve its relationship with the former Invicta champion. Cris says he accepted the executive's “apology” and hopes that this translates into actions and not just words.

For Cyborg, if his management team and the UFC are “on the same page”, both can profit a lot and become even more successful. The Brazilian believes that Dana White opened the door for this to happen.
“I accepted your words. Let's see if this translates into practice or if it's just Dana White's words. We just have to work together. If you want to work together with me, we will definitely earn a lot of money together. But we have to work together. I think Dana opened the door for us to work together (…) I love my job and if my boss and my event love working with me, we can be successful together”, declared the Brazilian, in an interview with the program The MMA Hour.
On July 29, Cyborg enters the Ultimate Octagon for the third time and faces Tonya Evinger for the vacant women's featherweight belt, at UFC 214. Therefore, she predicts her medium-term future within the UFC, as her contract ends in October.
“I'm going to fight for the title, and if I get the belt, I should sign for another year. And, during this period, I'm likely to have a few fights, maybe two. But I have to think beyond that, if the UFC wants to work with me, how we will work together. I have to assess whether I'm happy, whether they treat me well. Let’s wait and do what makes everyone happy, my fans happy”, he commented.
