Amanda reiterates that she will submit Shevchenko in the rematch

Brazilian admitted 'mental' difficulties in the first fight between the two, but says she adapted to the challenger's style

The bantamweight champion Amanda nunes will face, this Saturday (8), one of the greatest challenges of his career: a rematch with Valentina Shevchenko, whom he beat at the beginning of last year. After dominating two rounds against the Kyrgyzstani, the Lioness felt the heat and was almost knocked out in the last round. She admitted that she had problems with Valentina's style, but promised that she will submit her in the rematch.

For Amanda, the main factor for the drop in performance against Shevchenko was “mental”. The Brazilian said she had problems managing the gas, and also because her opponent was left-handed.

“That fight was a challenge, because I had never fought against a left-hander. I ended up winning that fight, but in the third round I felt a little bad, strange. That took a lot out of me mentally. But I've been training for her since our first fight and, this time, I'm going to finish her”, he commented. Amanda nunes, in an interview with the UFC special program “Countdown to UFC 213”.

Nina ansaroff, UFC strawweight, Amanda's girlfriend and one of her main training companions, echoed the Lioness' feelings and admitted that they knew the champion would face Valentina again.

“After her first fight with Amanda, we continued to pay attention to Valentina and, after her last wins, I warned her: “Hey, we might have to face her again”, and we have always worked with southpaw sparring partners, to keep Amanda accustomed to a left-handed opponent,” commented Ansaroff.
