Edson Barboza comes from three consecutive victories and is getting closer and closer to the UFC lightweight title. The lightweight, which has triumphs against Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez and is coming off a knockout victory against Beneil Dariush, compared McGregor's situation with that of the former champion Germaine DeRandamie, who lost his featherweight title because he didn't want to fight even though he was healthy.
“Conor has been away too long, I don't think he cares about the UFC or the division. He doesn't respect us and the UFC won't take his belt away. I really don't understand why the UFC took away the belt from Germain de Randamie and he didn't take Conor's either. Take his belt off. Conor is not the real champion”, pointed out the Brazilian, in an interview with the podcast “The Fight Society”.
Disgusted by the indecision of his division, Barboza recently suggested a fight against José Aldo at featherweight. The fighter guarantees that he could weigh 66 kg. limit of the division and that facing his compatriot would be an honor.
