The Cuban Yoel romero will have the opportunity to become interim middleweight champion at UFC 213 on July 8th. To do this, however, he will have to go through Robert whittaker, considered a zebra, and which comes from victory over Ronaldo Jacare, in a duel where he was also the underdog.

The “Soldier of God” guarantees that he will not underestimate Whittaker, and says that he saw the Brazilian without focus in the defeat to the New Zealander, in April this year.

“I think Jacaré was focused on something else. I could see on TV at home that Jacaré's eyes and mind weren't focused on the fight. I don't know what he was focused on, but it was something else. It felt like he was fighting something he didn't have to fight. And I respect Jacaré a lot, but I believe he was thinking about something else. I, for example, don't talk about it anymore, because now I also have to focus on Robert. I only think about one person now, and that’s Robert”, commented Romero, in an interview with the Combate channel website, also taking advantage of his next opponent.

“Whittaker is a young guy, he knew how to get here, he came the right way and that's something I have to applaud. He deserves respect and I can't lose focus. I believe that his other opponents lost sight of this”, he praised.
