Rafael dos Anjos He started his journey at welterweight (up to 77kg) on the right foot. Former lightweight champion (up to 70kg), the Brazilian debuted in the new category, defeating Tarec saffiedine by unanimous decision in the UFC Singapore, last Saturday (17). Despite the successful start, Dos Anjos guarantees that he is in no rush for a new title fight, and emphasizes that he will reach the top little by little, without skipping steps.

During the 15 minutes of fight, Rafael put strong pressure on Saffleidine, who offered little danger. According to him, the strategy was exactly that, since the Belgian doesn't deal well when he is cornered by his opponents.
“We studied his game very well, we knew that he likes to fight in the clinch, and we knew that he doesn't handle pressure well. And pressure is my strong suit. I worked a lot on the muay thai clinch with my coach Eduardo Pamplona, and it worked well. I took him down and was on top. I think I won most of the exchanges. I’m going to go back home, review the fight and continue to improve,” he concluded.
