The mystery is over. Chris Cyborg will finally compete for the UFC women's featherweight belt. The Brazilian will face Megan anderson at UFC 214, an event that will take place on July 29th, in Anaheim, California, close to where the Curitiba native currently lives and trains. Germain de Randamie, who had become the organization's first division champion, was stripped of her title after refusing to face Cyborg.

Cyborg, 31 years old, has already had two fights in Ultimate, both at catchweight (up to 63,5kg). His debut came at UFC 198, in Curitiba, in May 2016, when he knocked out Leslie Smith. Afterwards, he knocked out Lina Lansberg in the UFC Brasilia, last September. In total, Cris has a record with 17 victories – 15 of them by knockout -, one defeat and one unsuccessful fight.
Megan anderson, just 27 years old, is seen as the future of the division, having won the interim Invcita FC title by knocking out veteran Charmaine Tweet in January this year. The Australian has a record of nine wins and two losses and has gone four fights without losing.
UFC 214 will feature a rematch between Daniel Cormier e Jon Jones, valid for the light heavyweight belt. In addition to Cris, two more Brazilians are confirmed on the show. Renan Barao, back at bantamweight, faces aljamain sterling, and Renato Moicano, which measures forces with Brian ortega, in a duel valid for the featherweight category.
