The next fight Conor McGregor It won't even be MMA – he faces Floyd Mayweather under boxing rules, on August 26th, in Las Vegas, but the Irishman already knows who he will face on his return to the UFC. According to Dana White, president of Ultimate, the lightweight champion's first title defense will be against the winner of the duel between Tony Ferguson e Khabib Nurmagomedov, which does not yet have a date to take place.

“Conor will have this fight in August, against Floyd Mayweather, and will defend his belt this year, but I will probably have Tony Ferguson e Khabib Nurmagomedov fighting to see who will get the title shot next”, declared Dana, in an interview with 'Combate.com'.
The fight between Ferguson and Nurmagomedov was scheduled to take place at UFC 209, last March, but the Russian had problems with the weight cut and was removed from the card.
Khabib, number 1 in the lightweight rankings, is undefeated in his MMA career, having won the 24 fights he has had, eight of them in Ultimate. In his last confrontation, he 'ran over' Michael Johnson at UFC 205, in November 2016. Ferguson, in second place in the rankings, comes from nine consecutive victories in the category. His last appearance was also in November last year, when he beat the former champion Rafael dos Anjos. TUF 13 champion, he has already had 13 fights in the organization, with 12 victories and only one defeat, in 2012, to Michael Johnson.
