Middleweight Nate Marquardt was angry after his loss to Vitor belfort at UFC 212 last Saturday (3). The North American did not agree with the decision of the side judges, who unanimously gave the victory to the Brazilian and says he won the first two rounds. According to “The Great”, the great proof of this is that Belfort himself started the last round going all out, to decide, as if he had lost the previous rounds.

Therefore, Marquardt says that the fairest thing would be to give him another opportunity to beat Belfort. In an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website, the North American officially asked for a rematch with the Brazilian, and assured that he would fight until next week, despite knowing that the “Phenomenon” will be reluctant to accept a new duel with him.
“I was very surprised. I think I clearly won rounds 1 and 2. I watched the fight again and I even think I won the third round – so much so that he started to advance because he thought he had lost the first rounds. I landed more punches and kicks in the third. So yes, I was shocked by the result. If I were him, I wouldn't be happy with the result. I was dominating the fight and at no point did he come close to knocking me out. I shook him on several occasions and I would like to do this fight again to settle the score”, commented Marquardt, asking for the rematch to be in the United States.
“I would do it right now, like, tomorrow. But I think he would be reluctant. After the fight, looking into his eyes, you could tell he knew he lost the fight, so you'd be surprised if he accepted it again. I clearly won and everyone who saw the fight thought I won too… I think a rematch in the USA would be fair”, he asked.
