Dana White confirms that Cris Cyborg will fight at UFC 214

The Ultimate boss, however, did not reveal who the Brazilian's opponent will be and whether the fight will be worth a title.

It took a while, but the mystery about the future of Chris Cyborg seems close to being resolved. This Thursday (1), the president of Ultimate, Dana White, revealed that the Brazilian will actually fight at UFC 214, which will feature in the main fight a fight for the light heavyweight belt between the champion Daniel Cormier and the challenger and former category title holder Jon Jones. The event will take place on July 29th, in Anaheim, California, close to where Cris currently lives and trains.

However, the Brazilian's opponent was not revealed. Dana White announced Cyborg's presence on the card in an interview with the event's official podcast, UFC Unfiltered, which features Matt Serra, former welterweight champion, as one of the presenters.

"Chris Cyborg is confirmed at UFC 214, in Anaheim. His opponent is still being chosen”, Dana White quickly commented.

The expectation is that the person chosen to face Cyborg will be Zingano cat, former challenger to the bantamweight title and last woman to defeat the current champion at 61 kg., also Brazilian Amanda nunes. Megan anderson, crowned Invicta FC's lineal featherweight champion after Cris vacated the belt, was confirmed at Invicta 24, and ruled out as a possible opponent for Cyborg.
