Last weekend, the UFC brought together most of the almost 500 fighters that make up its squad for an event about the future of the sport, the relationship between athletes and the company, among other lectures and counseling sessions. Among them were two of the greatest welterweights in the world: current champion Tyron woodley and the number one challenger in the category, the Brazilian Demian Maia. And the two met in a friendly atmosphere, complete with jokes.

In a video posted on UFC social media, Woodley jokes about the fact that Demian Maia have an excellent level of jiu-jitsu, more specifically in the rear naked choke and “submits” the Brazilian with this move. The two laughed and the atmosphere was light, despite them possibly being future opponents.
This is because, during the event, the president of Ultimate, Dana White, admitted that, after missing the deadline to fight for the middleweight title, former welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre would return to his home category, fighting for the title. In this scenario, Demian would have to wait some more time to finally get his chance to win the 77 kg belt. from the UFC.
