Boxing world champion dies in car accident in Mexico

The boxing world is in mourning. Mexican David “Tornado” Sanchez, 25 years old, passed away this Friday (19), in Hermosillo, Mexico, victim of a car accident. Sanchez was driving the car, which also contained his brother Jonathan, who also died as a result of the collision.

Sanchez was interim super flyweight world champion (up to 52kg) by the World Boxing Association (WBA),

In an official statement, the World Boxing Association (WBA) treated David as “a great gladiator who had a long way to go”.

As a professional, 'Tornado' Sanchez had 31 wins, 23 by knockout, four defeats and two draws. At its presentation, in April this year. the Mexican beat Victoriano Nunez.
