The UFC champion Conor McGregor is getting closer and closer to getting a superfight with Floyd Mayweather in boxing. This Thursday, after Dana White announced that Ultimate had officially released the fighter for the noble art, by agreement between the parties, the Irishman commented on the deal with the “bosses”, calling it “historic”.

In an official statement, McGregor also thanked his management team, Paradigm Sports Management, which also works with names such as Chris Weidman, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Michael Bisping, Among others.
“It is an honor to sign this record-breaking agreement with my partners Zuffa LLC, The Ultimate Fighting Championship and Paradigm Sports Management. The first, and most important part of this historic contract, has been officially signed. Congratulations to all parties involved. Now, we await the signing of Al Haymon and the boxer (Floyd Mayweather) in the coming days”, commented McGregor.
The superfight should pit one of the biggest names in boxing history against the greatest fighter in MMA today. With a perfect record of 49 victories, Floyd Mayweather was world champion in several boxing categories, while Conor McGregor became the first UFC fighter to hold two belts in two weight classes at the same time.
