Even though she has been away from the world of MMA since December 2016, Ronda Rousey continues to be a topic among professional colleagues. The flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, number 1 in the UFC's weight-for-pound rankings, criticized the former bantamweight champion's stance after the two defeats she suffered.

Undefeated for almost six years, Johnson last tasted defeat in October 2011, when he was overcome by Dominick Cruz. He states that setbacks are a natural process in an athlete's career, and that's why Ronda shouldn't give so much importance to recent stumbles.
“Everyone has felt the taste of defeat, everyone loses. It's part of the sport. Grow up. Look, Ronda, you lost the last few fights, but you managed to make more money than the entire women's roster. You’ll be fine, don’t worry,” she concluded.
