“I really wanted this fight! I've been asking for it for a long time because it makes a lot of sense for me and him. Number 9 in the bantamweight rankings, Thominhas sees in Rivera the chance to get closer to a fight for the division title, since his rival is 5th on the list and is going through a great phase.
“It gives a lot of motivation. The guy is ranked, he's coming off a big win, he's a better opponent, tougher, but that's what I want: big fights to find my place in the category and fulfill my dream, which is to be champion. I believe that if I win in a good way, without leaving any doubts, I would be very close to the belt”, said the bantamweight.
Thominhas last acted in November 2016, when he knocked out Albert Morales in the UFC Sao Paulo. At 25 years old, he has a record of 22 wins and just one loss. In Ultimate, he already has five positive results and one negative.
