Retired from MMA since the loss to Daniel Cormier in the main fight of UFC 210, an event held in April this year, Anthony Johnson closed the mystery regarding his future outside the world of fighting. Although speculation was that 'Rumble' would have a role on an American football team, the truth is different: he will work with medical marijuana.

“My friend Paul is involved in the cannabis business. We are opening a factory, it is for medicinal use. There's some cool stuff happening. We are already big. We are just waiting for the law to pass to enter. We will follow all laws”, declared Anthony, in an interview on a radio program.
Johnson also made a point of highlighting again the reasons that made him abandon MMA. According to him, the numerous injuries and pain in the body were paramount.
“My health, man. I heard a lot about chronic traumatic encephalopathy (dementia pugilistica) and head injuries. In MMA, we are constantly beating each other up and I love myself so much. If guys want to do this to themselves, go ahead. It's your body, your future. But I'm destined to do something greater. You have to get into the sport, make your money and get out. That’s why Conor (McGregor) is killing it… It’s not for me, man, I don’t want that life anymore”, concluded the former fighter.
At 33, Anthony Johnson He left MMA with a record of 22 wins and six losses. In the UFC, there were 19 fights, with 13 positive results and six negative results, having performed in three different categories: welterweight (up to 77kg), middleweight (up to 84kg) and light heavyweight (up to 93kg).
