The main fight of UFC 211 couldn't have turned out better for the champion Stipe Miocic. The Croatian-American needed just two minutes and 22 seconds to avenge his last defeat in Ultimate, which occurred in December 2014, to junior gypsy. On that occasion, the Brazilian won a balanced decision.

In the rematch, however, Miocic left no doubt that he was superior, landing a bomb at the beginning of the fight, putting the Brazilian on the ground and waiting only for the referee's interruption, which came after the champion threw a few more punches. It was Stipe's second title defense, as he won the title against Fabricio Werdum at UFC 198 and later knocked out alistair overeem, in September, at UFC 203.
