The rematch, which could happen at UFC 214, has not yet been made official. Daniel Cormier e Jon Jones they continue exchanging insults on social media. The former champion started the discussion by saying that he couldn't wait to smash his archrival's mouth. DC, then, realizing that “Bones” had used the verb “to pop” in English, provoked him with another connotation to the word, which can be used to refer to testing positive in some exam.

“It's funny that you used that word “pop”, like “pop positive” (testing positive), “pop a molly” (taking ecstasy), “pop a cialis” (taking cialis, a medicine for erectile dysfunction that Jones would have used). I can keep talking for days”, commented Cormier, on his Twitter.

Upon seeing the champion's replica, Jon Jones praised him, ironically, and made a point of remembering that the only defeat in Cormier's record is for himself. The two fought at UFC 182, when “Bones” was still the champion and DC lost the only fight of his MMA career, by unanimous decision.

“Finally a decent joke. Let’s not forget that I took your seal,” Jones teased.

After UFC 182, the then light heavyweight champion was involved in a traffic accident, where he broke a pregnant woman's arm and fled the scene, due to being intoxicated. After that, he had his belt taken away by Ultimate himself and Cormier became the new title holder after winning Anthony Johnson at UFC 187. DC hasn't lost since then, and Jones has only fought once, against Ovince St Preux for the interim title.

Despite the victory over OSP, Jones ended up not having the chance to unify the belts, as he was caught in an anti-doping test days before UFC 200, when he would have a rematch with Cormier. Suspended for a year, “Bones” could return to fight in July.
