The Brazilian Chris Cyborg didn't like the criticism from former fighter and current UFC commentator, Brian Stann. The former UFC middleweight had said that the Invicta champion was “complicated to work with”. Cris did not hesitate and rebutted Stann on social media, first saying that he would talk about him with the new UFC owners and then posting a video of the former athlete's last fight: a brutal knockout suffered by Wanderlei Silva, who was once Cyborg's training partner and is a personal friend of the fighter.

“I haven't heard the negative things Brian Stann said about me, but let's see if Sean Shelby (UFC matchmaker) talks about it in my meeting with him and Ari (Emanuel, actor's agent and one of the new owners of Ultimate).” , Cyborg first commented, before posting the video of Wand's knockout of Stann, with the following caption.
“Now I understand why Brian Stann was on an American radio station denigrating my image. Now I know why he doesn’t like Brazilians”, he provoked.
Stann, one of the UFC's main commentators and Joe Rogan's replacement, commented on his personal experience with Cyborg during UFC 198, in May last year, in Curitiba. The former fighter explained, on his radio program “SiriusXM”, that the Brazilian seemed to refuse to talk to him before her official debut in Ultimate. Stann said that he talks to all the fighters when commenting on an event and assured that he does not pass on the information collected to anyone, including broadcast partners.
