Preparing to return to the octagon at UFC Auckland, June 10th, against Derrick Lewis, Mark Hunt has not yet forgotten the recent controversies involving doping and Ultimate athletes. After three of his recent opponents failed in tests carried out by USADA (US Anti-Doping Agency), Mark Hunt made an unusual demand to the company: to face a fighter who did not test positive for an anti-doping test.

“The reason I sued the UFC was that it was the third fight in a row, and I would have the fourth in a row. A lot of people say, 'Mark, but you knew what you were getting yourself into.' Bullshit, I didn't sign to face any jacked-up monkey”, declared the fighter, in conversation with a podcast on the website 'My MMA News' (USA).

After the defeat to Brock Lesnar at UFC 200, in July 2016, the heavyweight ended up fighting a legal battle against the UFC, alleging that the organization did not guarantee the fighters' safety, demanding compensation worth US$2,5 million (around R$ 8 million), an amount corresponding to the full value of the purse that Lesnar received at the event.

Mark Hunt is not having a good time inside the octagon, having lost his last two fights, the most recent at UFC 209, on March 4, when he was knocked out by alistair overeem. Seventh in the ranking, the New Zealander has seven wins, five setbacks, one draw and one I didn't answer. The peak of his career in the organization was in 2014, when he competed for the interim heavyweight belt against the Brazilian Fabricio Werdum. At the time, he was knocked out in the second round.
