Cub swanson  shone in the main fight of UFC Nashville, an event held last Saturday night (22). The American beat Artem Lobov and exuded confidence to ask for his next challenge: a title fight against the winner José Aldo x Max Holloway, who face off at UFC Rio, in June.

Swanson, who was knocked out by José Aldo in just eight seconds with a flying knee, in 2009, he did not hide his desire to avenge the setback.

“I've been studying Aldo for a long time, and I know what he and I are good at. I also know that I can turn any fight into a war to make my fight prevail. I'm excited to face him again. I learned many lessons since that fight, and some of them shaped me into who I am today. All my defeats have taught me something, but from this one I learned a lot of lessons in particular. That’s why I want this rematch,” Swanson said at the press conference after the UFC Nashville.

Despite his interest in avenging his loss to Aldo, Swanson, who was also beaten by Holloway, says his biggest goal is to have the chance to fight for the UFC featherweight belt.

“I've already lost to both of them, so they're both stuck in my throat. I've never fought for a belt in my career, so this is something I intend to have the opportunity to do. For the division, it's better if Holloway wins, there will be more repercussions. But my chances of fighting for the belt are greater if Aldo wins, because there won’t be a chance for a rematch and things like that,” he added.
