Maiquel Falcao was defeated this Friday, at Fight Nights, in Vladivostok, Russia, in a duel against Vladimir Mineev. The knockout setback came brutally and the Brazilian ended up receiving too many blows after the fight referee took too long to stop it. It was the tenth setback for the fighter, who has stints in the UFC and Bellator. He had beaten Mineev by majority decision in his last fight, also on Fight Nights.

After two minutes of exchange, Maiquel received a hard blow from Mineev and fell, paving the way for the Russian's victory. Landing blows to his opponent's head and body, Vladimir spent almost two minutes attacking without Falcão managing to mount any type of coherent defense or counterattack. The referee was only satisfied when the Brazilian appeared to be completely unconscious, after a final barrage of punches.
Falcão only had one UFC fight, having beaten Gerald Harris by decision. He left the organization when his involvement in a legal case in Brazil was discovered. At Bellator, Maiquel challenged for the middleweight title, but lost to then-champion Alexander Shlemenko.
