Even without officially debuting as a UFC welterweight, Rafael Dos Anjos already aiming for the top of the division. The former lightweight champion guarantees that moving up a category does not mean that he has given up on a new race for the belt. On the contrary, the Brazilian believes in his ability and sees himself with good possibilities in the new category.

“I’m in no rush, but my goal is the welterweight belt. I think I have what it takes to get there. But I'm going to do in this division what I did in the lightweight division, without rushing. For Dos Anjos, the change of category was forced by the difficulty in making the lightweight division. In the new division, the Brazilian believes he will perform better and intends to put his well-known pressure game into practice against Saffiedine, even to send a message to the rest of the UFC's welterweights.
“I'll trade with him, and if he gives me opportunities there, I'll use my game. I will walk forward all the time, as I always do. I think I'll be stronger in this division, I won't suffer from this violent weight cut. I think I will perform better in this weight category”, he concluded.
