One of the main highlights of UFC Kansas, an event held last Saturday (15), Robert whittaker confirmed his good form by knocking out a surprise Brazilian Ronaldo Jacaré, who until then was tipped to compete for the middleweight belt (up to 84kg). Now, however, it is the Australian who is aiming for a title fight in the category. And he doesn't hide his desire to face Michael Bisping, current holder of the strap.

“I have to deal with my coaches, but I'm on my way to the title. I want the belt. Bisping owes me a fight. Whether he wins or loses, I want the belt”, declared the fighter, in an interview after his most recent triumph.

When asked if he thought Jacaré had underestimated him, Whittaker dismissed the hypothesis and assured that the Brazilian was focused for the duel.

“The punters don’t know who I am. I live in Australia, I train there, far from anywhere. I don't think Jacaré ignored me. He is a veteran of the sport. He took me seriously from day one, but it’s just a victory,” he concluded.
