Marlon, 28 years old, was WSOF champion from March 2014 until January 2017. Since then, he has won seven in seven fights, having defended the title on five occasions. Undefeated for more than five years (13 fights), the Friborg native has a professional record with 18 wins, four defeats and one draw.
Third placed in the category ranking, Assunção comes from a victory over aljamain sterling, in January this year. In Ultimate since 2011, he has had ten fights in the organization, with eight victories, including names like Bryan caraway, Peter Munhoz and former champion TJ Dillashaw, and two defeats.
UFC 212 will have as its main fight a featherweight title unification duel: the linear champion José Aldo faces the owner of the interim belt Max Holloway. The former champion Anderson Silva is also confirmed on the show, but has no defined opponent yet. The fight between the straws Claudinha gadelha e Karolina Kowalkiewicz will also be part of the attraction, in addition to names like Erick silva, Leonardo Santos and Antonio Shoe Guy.
