Even active in MMA at 41 years old, Anderson Silva has plans to venture into boxing. And he wants to fulfill one of his biggest dreams: face his idol, Roy Jones Jr., Olympic runner-up and world champion in the noble art. At the UFC 212 launch press conference, which was also attended by José Aldo e Max Holloway, Spider assured that a duel with Jones is something he continues to dream about.

“First of all, I'm a fan. I've been following Roy Jones Jr.'s career since the Olympics (Seoul, in 1988, when the North American was silver medalist). I always wanted to fight with him, he was an inspiration, I was inspired by his style. Now is wait to see. This is something I really want and we'll see if it happens. I think it might happen because there's so much happening right now that I thought I'd never see, so it's just waiting. I want this fight”, said Spider, who was interrupted by José Aldo asking to have a fight with Miguel Cotto at the same event.
“I want to get in on the good stuff too! (laughs) Put me, I don't know, against Miguel Cotto, or something like that. I also want to surf this wave. Dana White, Joe Carr (vice president of UFC in Latin America), don't forget me, don't. I want to fight, brother. You can even fall too, no problem”, joked Aldo, who reiterated his dream of starting from the bottom in boxing.
“I really wanted to start slowly, look for a gym in the United States, train, fight and gradually find my way until, one day, I fight for the world boxing title. Things haven’t happened the way I wanted yet, and I’m happy in the UFC and MMA, but I have this dream”, he commented.
