The controversial defeat of Chris Weidman for Gegard Mousasi at UFC 210, held last Saturday (08), in Buffalo (USA), continues to generate buzz in the MMA world. Michael Bisping, a declared dislike of the former champion, spared no criticism and mocked his rival, insinuating that the North American was 'faking' possible damage during the fight.

“At first, apparently, it was two illegal hits, and Weidman thought it was five minutes, but let's face it, we're talking about an Oscar winner. He was lying there, he thought he had five minutes, but he was rolling around on the floor, scratching his head. He had a great performance there, he even rolled onto his knees when his back was turned (…) What happened was the benefit of the slow motion replay, they held it for a minute because the knees were cool. Now, because he was acting and pretending to be injured, the committee said 'no, you're not going to continue' and they gave him a TKO. I don't know if it was the right decision, but Weidman was trying to win by disqualification or, at the very least, trying to make Mousasi lose a point”, declared the champion, during the edition of his podcast 'Believe You Me'.

Bisping took the opportunity to remember a similar episode that happened in his duel against Anderson Silva, in February 2016. On that occasion, the Brazilian landed a flying knee on the Englishman at the exact moment the round's horn sounded, causing a lot of complaints from Spider, who claimed that he had knocked out the Englishman.

“I struggled with the Anderson Silva. At the end of the third round, my mouthguard fell off, he flew up and threw a knee, which opened cuts all over my face. I was on the ground because he kneed me and the horn sounded. Did I roll on the floor saying 'Mommy, Mommy, help me'? No! I got up, wiped the blood off my face, put on my mouth guard, took a breath, took a sip of water and went back to fight. I didn’t roll around on the floor like a bitch waiting for the commission to give me victory for no reason, that’s what he (Weidman) did”, he concluded.

The fight that culminated in the defeat of the former champion began after referee Dan Miragliotta interrupted the fight due to an alleged illegal knee from Gegard. However, the judge, upon seeing the move on the replay, immediately changed his mind, but was warned by the midfielders, who carried out an assessment on Weidman and decided that the North American was unable to continue, thus decreeing the end of the fight.
