Even without an opponent, Anderson Silva was present at the UFC 212 launch press conference, an event that takes place on June 3, in Rio de Janeiro. Spider would face Kelvin Gastelum, but the duel fell when the North American was caught in the doping test for using marijuana.

Exuding good humor, the Brazilian revealed that he does not intend to accept the challenge of Luke Rockhold, in addition to not being interested in a rematch with Vitor belfort. However, when asked about Yoel romero, Anderson admitted that the duel made sense.

“Many people will interpret what I’m going to say as arrogance or arrogance, but come on. O Vitor belfort comes from defeat, and I come from victory. There's no point in facing him. There's no way to beat that first fight. This rematch would only be good for Vitor (…) Rockhold is also coming off a defeat, but Romero would be an interesting fight, an athlete who has already qualified to fight for the belt, has all the qualities to fight for the title. It would be a big challenge. But let’s wait for the UFC and see what happens”, commented Anderson.

When asked about the possibility of facing Nick Diaz Once again, Spider surprised by revealing that the North American is one of the options being studied by Ultimate to replace Gastelum.

"The Nick Diaz It's a fight that makes sense, because the first one was a fight without results. I respect you a lot Nick Diaz, and this is one of the fights that has been considered. It would be cool to see this fight,” she declared, then talking about the possibility of a fight for the middleweight belt, which she held between 2006 and 2013.

“I don't put my 100% focus on it, but if there is an opportunity I will fight (for the title). Because, when I joined the UFC, I didn't have that focus and it ended up happening. I will continue like this until the end of my career”, he concluded.
