Conor McGregor builds arena for training against Mayweather

Conor McGregor he already treats the possible fight with Floyd Mayweather in boxing as official. The UFC champion's main trainer, John Kavanagh, revealed that the Irishman is building an arena that will simulate the situations that the “Notorious” could go through against the boxer.

According to Kavanagh, McGregor's team should invite people to watch McGregor's sparring sessions so that he can feel as if he were actually in a fight, with the noise of the fans and coaches.

“It will happen, 100%. Before coming here, I talked to Conor and we came up with a training plan. For now, he is doing basic training so, when I get back, we can move on to specific training. We have a “secret dojo” moved to a world class ring identical to the situation when it occurs. My gym, the guy who owns my gym, owns all the land. There's a building behind and he's going to give it to me until the fight. So we are preparing everything there. The idea is to hold sparring sessions weekly or every two weeks and bring people to watch, as if it were a real fight and imitate the situation of a real boxing match”, commented Kavanagh, to the British newspaper “Daily Mirror”.

Last weekend, Dana White confirmed that he intends to release McGregor to face Floyd Mayweather and also denied that he wants 80% of the Irishman's purse to let him have a boxing fight. The UFC president's idea is that, after Conor has his first child (due in May), the two will have a meeting to finalize the main details of the duel and present proposals to Mayweather.
