The outcome of the duel between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather is one of the most anticipated news in combat sports in 2017. So much so that a simple joke with the fact can “go viral”. That's what happened last Saturday (1st), when John Kavanagh, the Irishman's main trainer and friend, “announced” his pupil's fight with the boxer, in an April Fools' Day prank, known as April Fools' Day.

Shortly after tweeting the fight “announcement”, however, Kavanagh admitted that it was an April Fools prank. Before that, Kavanagh declared that the duel would be in a cell with him and Conor facing Floyd Mayweather and his father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., a former boxer. He also made fun of the fact that his tweet was among the top topics talked about by users of the social network in Ireland and the United Kingdom last Saturday.
