Specifically regarding Khabib, Ferguson warned that he would only sign a new contract to face the Russian if he had guarantees, probably financial, that he would not be injured (he lost the chance to win a belt and his victory bonus with the cancellation of the fight).
“I would love to have this fight, but doing a whole training camp again to face this guy would be difficult. I want this fight, the fans want it, but it leaves a salty taste in the mouth. I would even train again, but I would have to have some guarantees”, he argued.
