Without fighting since February 2016, when he had his last fight for the UFC, Daniel sarafian He already has a date, place and opponent set for his return to the octagon. He faces the American James Austen at LFA 11, April 29th, in Sioux Falls, in the state of South Dakota (USA), in a duel valid in the light heavyweight category (up to 93kg.) Sarafian, 34 years old, gained prominence on the MMA scene after a great participation in TUF Brasil 1, in 2012. On the reality show, he submitted Renee Forte and knocked him out Serginho Moraes, results that earned him a place in the final of the program, but an injury prevented him from facing Cezar Mutant, the other finalist.
In the UFC, however, he did not live up to expectations and won only two of the six fights he had. After debuting with a loss to CB Dollaway, he recovered by submitting Eddie Mendez, but again accumulated setbacks when he was overcome by Cezar Mutant and Kiichi Kunimoto. With the rope around his neck, he faced compatriot Junior Alpha, and emerged victorious thanks to an injury to his opponent's hand. His last duel for the organization was against Oluwale Bamgbose, when he ended up being knocked out in the first round. In total, he has nine positive results and six negative results as a professional.
Austen, 27, has a similar record, with nine wins and three losses. Having worked for Bellator, he hasn't fought since July 2016, when he was knocked out by Chase Waldon in the now-defunct RFA.
