Bethe wants to redeem herself by fighting in Brazil and guarantees: “I’m going to knock her out”

Almost two years after the fateful UFC 190, when she was knocked out by Ronda Rousey in a duel valid for the women's bantamweight title, Bethe Correia will fight again in Brazil this Saturday (11), at UFC Fortaleza, against North American Marion Reneau. For the woman from Paraíba, this is the opportunity to redeem herself against her compatriots.

“I asked to fight in March, and they put me here (on the UFC Fortaleza card). I didn’t like my last performance in Brazil, I expected more from myself, so I want to put on a good fight to reconcile with the Brazilian fans”, said the Brazilian, in an interview with SUPER FIGHTS, during Media Day held at UFC Fortaleza.

When talking about her next opponent, Bethe didn't hesitate when talking about how she sees herself ending the fight. According to him, Reneau will 'pay' for the ordeals carried out in the weeks leading up to the confrontation.

The gap I see is in her face, because I'm going to knock her out. She asked to fight me, so let her bear the consequences. She has some gaps in her striking, she has good jiu-jitsu, but it's also nothing special. I see myself well enough to nullify her game,” she assured her.

Asked about the next title fight in the category between Amanda nunes e Valentina Shevchenko, Correia preferred not to name a favorite, but highlighted that he sees good chances for the European to emerge victorious against her compatriot.

“It’s a very complicated fight. Valentina is a very tough athlete, she already faced Amanda in a duel that could have gone either way. I actually thought that Valentina was better, so the belt could change hands”, said Bethe, who concluded by guaranteeing that she is ready for a new title fight next.

"I am here. If there is no certified fighter after this (belt) fight, I am ready to take either of them.”
