The organization of Brave Combat Federation, which will hold its third edition on March 18, in Curitiba (PR), announced this Monday (06) a very noble attitude: the company will revert all box office revenue collected at the event to the treatment of the boy Arthur Tetto Lader, who suffers from a rare degenerative genetic disease with no cure.

Arthur is one year old and was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy type I (SMA-I) which causes difficulty swallowing and sucking – legs are weaker than arms – increased susceptibility to respiratory infections; and the accumulation of secretions in the lungs and throat.
Treatment for SMA-I is carried out with the drug Spinraza (Nusinersen) on an experimental basis in Europe and was approved last year in the United States, where the cost can reach US$ 750 thousand (R$ 2.3 million) in the first year alone . Arthur's mother, Rafaela França Tetto Lader, started a campaign to raise R$1 million, a cost that would cover the boy's hospital, medication, travel and monitoring costs.
So far, the family has already raised around R$170, an amount still far from what is needed, and the first application in Arthur is scheduled for April 29th. The treatment does not represent a cure for AME-I, but it will help little Arthur to breathe again without equipment, move his arms and legs, eat through his mouth, steady his head and trunk, and, perhaps, even walk.
Mohammed Shahid, president of Brave, stated that the intention is to go beyond direct aid to Arthur and his family. “When I heard about Arthur's story, I immediately wanted to do something to help the family at this time. But, in addition, we know that we have an extensive platform and we want to use it to encourage other people and entities to do the same and contribute to the #JuntosPeloArthur campaign”, declared the leader.
