With just a week to go until UFC Fortaleza, which takes place next Saturday (11), a last-minute drop could mean the card has one fight less. The welterweight Max griffin was injured and is out of the duel against Serginho Moraes. The nature of the injury was not revealed, and Ultimate has less than a week to find a replacement for the North American. If he fails, the fight will be removed from the event.

Coincidentally, this is the eighth time that one of Serginho's opponents has been injured and abandoned the duel. Before Griffin, Zak Cummings, Sean Spencer, Santiago Ponzinibbio, Gasan Umalatov, Peter sobotta (twice), Kamaru Usman and Mike Graves were also scheduled to face the Brazilian, but were removed from their respective events.
Max griffin, 31 years old, has only two fights in the organization. He debuted losing to Colby covington in August 2016, but bounced back by knocking out Erick Montano last November. In total, he has a record of 13 wins and three losses.
