Now it's official. Demian Maia e Jorge masvidal they will actually face each other, but it won't be in the UFC Nashville, as reported at the beginning of the week. The welterweight duel is scheduled for UFC 211, which takes place on May 13, in Dallas (USA), Texas. The information was confirmed by Ultimate itself.

The Brazilian had expressed his desire to wait for the winner of Tyron woodley x Stephen Thompson, who will fight for the welterweight title at UFC 209, this Saturday (04). However, the return of the former champion Georges St Pierre may have forced Demian's hand who, against Masvidal, will seek his seventh consecutive victory at 77 kg. It comes from triumphs over Alexander Yakovlev, Ryan LaFlare, Neil Magny, Gunnar Nelson, Matt Brown and Carlos Condit.
Masvidal is also going through a good phase. After moving to welterweight with a victory over Cézar Mutante and defeats to Ben henderson and Lorenz Larkin, the Cuban-American comes from three consecutive victories, over Ross Pearson and against the ranked Jake ellenberger e Donald Cerrone, both by knockout.
In addition to Demian, UFC 211 will feature three other Brazilians, two of them competing for the titles of their respective categories. For the heavyweight division, Junior Gypsy rematch the champion Stipe Miocic, while Jéssica “Bate-Estaca” faces the Polish Joanna Jedrzejczyk, in a duel valid for the strawweight belt. Fabricio Werdum is also confirmed on the card: he faces heavyweight Ben Rothwel.
