Without Fedor, Pitbull shines and beats Josh Thomson by knockout at Bellator 172

Brazilian took advantage of Fedor's fight being canceled and shone as the main attraction of Bellator 172 with a knockout victory

patricky-pitbull-beats-bellator172This Saturday night (18) would be Fedor's, but the one who shined in Bellator's circular cage was the Brazilian Patricky Pitbull. The Russian legend, who would make his debut on the show, was out of action moments before the show when his rival Matt Mitrione was hospitalized. As a result, the clash between Pitbull and Josh thomson was promoted as the night's main attraction. And the athlete from Rio Grande do Norte didn't waste the opportunity and knocked out the home athlete 40 seconds into the second round.

With the big victory, Pitbull wasted no time and challenged the lightweight division champion, Michael chandler.

“For me it's a big victory to knock out a guy like Josh. I like him, he's a great guy, I'm very happy with my performance in Bellator. Maybe a guy who is at home watching this fight and crying is the one Michael chandler, so shut up and fuck…”, shot Patricky.

The fight

The promise of the fight between Pitbull and Thomson was a duel with an intense exchange of blows. And that's exactly what happened. The North American took the initiative with kicks to the legs, but the Brazilian responded by throwing counter blows. In one of these attacks, Pitbull connected with an overhand right and Thomson went to the ground. Patricky tried to complete the job, but Josh quickly got up.

After the great moment at the end of the first round, Patricky came back ready to end the dispute in the second round. Pitbull landed two punches and the American lost his balance. When he tried to get up, the Brazilian connected with another uppercut, taking Thomson to the ground and ending the fight with two more punches on the ground.
